BN Systems, Inc. was incorporated in 1992 and officially started business operations January 1, 1993. BN Systems, Inc. also enjoys the status of qualifying as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
Starting out as a new telephone interconnect, the focus of the company was primarily government related. The company became the largest Comdial "Preferred" Dealer in Western New York in 1995. Since its inception, BN Systems, Inc. has also grown to be the only Comdial National Account Dealer in upstate New York. In 1998, BN Systems, Inc. was elevated to Comdial Gold Status and was ranked 33rd nationally out of 750 Comdial distributors.
In September of 1994, BN Systems, Inc. was awarded a two year federal contract with the United States Air Force. BN Systems, Inc. successfully installed and maintained the Northern Telecom SL-100 telecommunications system at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base in Niagara Falls, New York.
During the years that would follow, BN Systems, Inc. was awarded several long-term contracts. Those contracts include:
- New York State Unified Court System: A five year contract for the installation and certification of Level 5 and fiber optic cable for all New York State Court locations (except Long Island and New York City). All of these sites utilize the Krone TrueNet Cabling System performance warranty program.
- New York State Digital Centrex and ISDN: Installation and maintenance of digital centrex and ISDN telephone equipment for Western New York.
- New York State Electronic Key Systems: Installation and maintenance of digital key equipment for regions 7 and 8 in New York State.
- U.S. General Services Administration (POTS) : A three year contract for the Northeast United States (Zone 3). Installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment as well as structured wiring systems.
- NYS Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PBX), Peripheral Systems, Accessory Equipment and Maintenance Award Number T960252, Group Number 77009: Installation and maintenance of Digital PBX telecommunications systems exceeding 100 ports, Peripheral Systems, Station Management, and associated cabling.
In addition to our large government contracts, our commercial base has steadily grown. This has allowed us to continually enhance, perfect, and strengthen our service level and commitments without sacrificing growth or restricting our level of sales. The professional designation of RCDD® was awarded to Mark F. Rewers, our Vice President of Operations, on February 29, 2000 by BICSI in recognition of having successfully completed BICSI's registration and examination requirements. An RCDD is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer. The RCDD is a designation for individuals who demonstrate expertise in the design, implementation, and integration of telecommunications and data communications transport systems and related infrastructure. The RCDD designation is recognized industry-wide as indicating superior expertise in the design of voice and data cabling systems.
BICSI is a professional not-for-profit telecommunications association, founded in 1974 to serve the Telephone Company building industry consultants (BICs). BICs are responsible for the design and distribution of telecommunications wiring for commercial and multifamily buildings.
