Digital Centrex Equipment Digital Centrex dial tone service from the local exchange carrier (e.g. NYNEX Frontier) provides many enhanced and advanced features through the integration of data and voice services and ISDN. In many instances access to these features requires a proprietary telephone instrument on the customer's (agency's) premise. The Digital Centrex Equipment centralized contracts provide the agencies and local government entities with the ability to purchase and install this equipment in addition to cable non-proprietary telephones and all other equipment necessary for a "turnkey" installation.
