PRICE WATERHOUSE Business: Accounting and Consulting Scope of Project
One of the Nations leading accounting firms, Price Waterhouse, prides itself on offering full service accounting solutions. When the Price Waterhouse Buffalo, New York office needed communications solutions they turned to the area's full service communications provider, BN Systems, Inc. Price Waterhouse needed CAT 5 enhanced data and voice cabling installed to allow more users with greater bandwidth. Solution BN Systems, Inc, a BICSI certified installer, ran more than 140 voice and 200 data cables replacing the outdated systems. BN Systems also designed and installed 3 multi-functional conference rooms that can be configured in a variety of ways to meet Price Waterhouse's daily needs. In order to insure full communications integration with little down time BN Systems worked closely with Lucent Technologies who installed the Prices Waterhouse telephone system. To further minimize disruptions of Price Waterhouse's normal operations BN Systems Inc. completed the job after hours and in only three weeks; quite an accomplishment for such a large job. The ceiling was over-cabled due to years of changes and modifications making the area difficult to work in. BN Systems, Inc. designed a new cable pathway system using a variety of ERICO products that allowed us to minimize the number of cable paths and routes while maximizing the number of cables in each pathway. Benefit CAT 5 enhanced cabling increases bandwidth to accommodate more users while offering greater reliability and fewer errors in transmission. TROCAIRE COLLEGE Buffalo, New York Business: University Scope of Project
Trocaire College in Buffalo, New York offers a variety of two-year degree programs that prepare its student for the workplace and continuing education. In 1998 Trocaire renovated and expanded its campus to accommodate increased admissions. Because the College was moving into computer based training for its nursing and medical programs they chose a 100 Base T Ethernet network with a fiber backbone riser system. Solution BN Systems was contracted to provide design and build services for the entire network and voice system. The project consisted of 1200 CAT 5E cables that were interchangeable for voice or data. Ten closets were designed to facilitate fast patching and changes between voice and data. Each closet collapsed back to a central distribution point via 12-strand mm fiber. Second, a 24 line by 110 station Comdial PBX was installed along with 8 ports of voice mail. Finally a Comdial Tracker pager system for security, maintenance and key administrators was installed to allow instant communication and location for these personnel anywhere on or around the campus. They needed a phone system capable of managing their increased call volume. BN Systems, Inc. installed a Comdial DXP-Plus and 110 Impact series telephones. To accommodate Trocaire's technological advancements a full date network was installed allowing information to be easily exchanged from one computer to another. A fully integrated voice mail system finished off the installation allowing dependable message delivery with a user-friendly format.
